Cartlodges, garages and carports
An open-fronted cartlodge keeps cars sheltered while looking at home on a period or rural property, built in oak or timber frame with options such as a log store or an enclosed storage bay. We also build single and double garages with roller or up-and-over doors, clad to match your home, and simpler timber carports for covered parking beside the house. Before work starts, you'll see your design as a realistic 3D model.

Molyneaux Design and Build is run by founder Martin Molyneaux in Billericay. After 20 years in engineering and project management, Martin designs every building himself and runs every project, so you'll deal with the same person from the first conversation to handover.
Do cartlodges and garages need planning permission?
Many detached garages and cartlodges can be built under permitted development. A building in front of the house, close to a boundary, or above certain heights will usually need planning permission. We assess this on the site visit and manage the application if one is needed — see our regulations guide for more detail.
